Santa Dash 2018

Santa Dash warm up 2018

Santa Dash 2018

Sunday 23rd of December saw the now annual event of the Tobermory Santa Dash around the town.  The weather was unusually good, and certainly much better than last year.

The warm up was expertly done by Super Elf, Carol Blakeley, to Christmas music outside the Lifeboat Station.  The children’s race, consisting of 46 very athletic young people went out first, along the main street, circling Ledaig and finishing back at the clock.

Jack MacDonald came flying in first boy and first girl Catriona Heapy.   The adult race started next, with quite a challenging race around Tobermory, via Eas Brae and Glengorm crossroads.  21 adults took part with many children joining in. Andrew Penny was first over the line and first lady was Catherine Bowman.

The apres run was in the Macdonald Arms, with mince pies and mulled wine courtesy of Susan Hall.

Thanks to all the helpers, including RNLI, Mull 1st Aiders, and you all for supporting the event..  See you all next year – Sunday 22nd December!
